Alex Cloward is a right defensive end for the Utah Utes standing 6'3" and weighing 247 pounds. From Salem, Utah, he attended Salem Hills HS, where he was a three-sport athlete earning first-team All-State and Region MVP honors. In his senior year, he recorded 63 total tackles with 14.0 sacks. During the 2024 season, Cloward did not appear in games. In 2025, he played in three contests as a reserve, including matchups against Arizona State and Baylor as well as the Las Vegas Bowl against Nebraska. He earned Academic All-Big 12 Rookie Team recognition.
