Matt Irwin is a free safety from Meridian, Idaho, who attended Owyhee High School, where he started at quarterback for three seasons. He played college football at Idaho, appearing in seven games as a freshman in 2024 and recording four tackles with one interception and one fumble recovery. As a sophomore in 2025, Irwin played in all 12 games for the Vandals, posting 45 tackles (29 solo) with one tackle for loss and two pass breakups. He recorded 11 tackles in back-to-back contests against Northern Arizona and UC Davis. Irwin transfers to UCF as a junior.
