Ty Mims is a wide receiver from Bay Minette, Alabama, who attended Baldwin County High School. In his senior year in 2021, he completed 98 passes on 161 attempts for 1,428 yards and 16 touchdowns while also rushing for 1,402 yards and 16 touchdowns. Mims played at Southern Mississippi before transferring to Texas State, where he did not see action in 2025. At Southern Miss, he recorded 39 receptions for 445 yards and 2 touchdown passes in 2023, and 33 catches for 383 yards with 1 touchdown in 2024 across all 12 games with 11 starts. He also accumulated 493 all-purpose yards and 167 punt return yards with a touchdown as a return specialist. Mims now joins UAB as a transfer-in receiver.
