Muaaz Byard is a middle linebacker for UAB, standing 6'2" and weighing 230 pounds. The York, Pennsylvania native transferred from Middle Tennessee, where he appeared in eight games with four starts during the 2025 season. He recorded 37 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, an interception, and two pass breakups while logging 321 defensive snaps. Against Wisconsin, Byard earned a start and posted a career-high eight tackles with 1.5 TFLs. In 2024, he played all 12 games and totaled 20 tackles with 1.5 TFLs, two hurries, and a fumble recovery across 243 total plays.
