Mantrez Walker is a weak-side linebacker from Buford, Georgia, who transferred to UAB from Colorado. At Buford High School, he earned All-Region First Team honors three consecutive years and finished his senior campaign with 54 tackles, four tackles for loss, and two quarterback hurries, helping lead the Wolves to an 11-2 record and a 7A quarterfinals appearance. During the 2025 season at Colorado, Walker appeared in four games, making his collegiate debut against Iowa State in week seven. He logged three defensive snaps against Utah and contributed 29 snaps on special teams across kickoff, kickoff return, and field goal block units.
