Jackson Mathews is a defensive back for the Tennessee Volunteers standing 6'0" and weighing 196 pounds. The Franklin, Tennessee native played at Christ Presbyterian Academy, where he recorded 29 tackles, three interceptions, and four pass breakups as a senior in 2023, also scoring a touchdown in the Division II-AA state championship game. He committed to the Vols in September 2023 and enrolled in summer 2024. Mathews appeared in two games during his freshman year, recording one tackle against Kent State on 9/14. As a redshirt freshman in 2025, he saw action in one game against ETSU on 9/6. He earned SEC First-Year Honor Roll recognition in 2024-25 and was named to the 2025 Fall SEC Academic Honor Roll.
