Edrees Farooq is a safety for the Tennessee Volunteers who stands 6'0" and weighs 202 pounds. A three-star recruit from St. Frances Academy in Baltimore, Maryland, he enrolled early in January 2023 and appeared in all 13 games as a true freshman in 2024, primarily on special teams. In his sophomore season in 2025, Farooq started all 13 games at safety and recorded 76 total tackles (37 solo), two interceptions including one 45-yard return for a touchdown, three pass breakups, and four forced fumbles. He ranked second on the team in interceptions and tied for sixth in the FBS in forced fumbles. Farooq is a returning junior expected to be among Tennessee's defensive leaders in 2026.
