Sam Neely III is a left cornerback for Stanford who transferred from Wake Forest after redshirting during the 2024 season. The Charlotte, North Carolina native made nine appearances as a redshirt sophomore in 2025, primarily contributing on special teams. He recorded his collegiate debut in the season opener at Hawai'i on August 23 and earned his first tackle against San Jose State on September 27. On November 1 against Pittsburgh, Neely logged 32 snaps at cornerback with three tackles. He finished the season with six solo tackles and one pass defended, including a break-up in Stanford's finale against Notre Dame on November 29.
