Melvin Spriggs is a 6'2", 220-pound weak-side linebacker from Landstuhl, Germany, who attended Saint Michael the Archangel Catholic HS in Fredericksburg, Virginia, where he served as a team captain. He transferred to Southern Miss after spending three seasons at Akron. During the 2025 season, Spriggs appeared in all 12 games, posting 51 tackles (23 solo), 5.0 tackles for loss, and 2.5 sacks while adding four quarterback hurries and a pass breakup. His best performance came against Buffalo on October 25, when he recorded 14 stops including 3.5 tackles for loss and both sacks.
