Kelvin Hunter is a 6'0", 210-pound safety from Florence, South Carolina, where he played for West Florence High School. A redshirt sophomore, Hunter graduated high school in December 2023 after recording 86 tackles, 18 tackles for loss, and three sacks on defense while also carrying the ball 57 times for 332 yards and five touchdowns. He joined South Carolina in January 2024 and appeared in three games that spring before redshirting. In 2025, Hunter took on expanded defensive back and special teams duties, appearing in 11 games and recording seven total tackles with 0.5 tackles for loss. He had four tackles against South Carolina State and two tackles against Coastal Carolina.
