Jamal Anderson is a 6'3", 225-pound linebacker from Buford, Georgia, who transferred to SMU from Clemson. A consensus four-star recruit in the 2023 class, Anderson appeared in all 13 games as a true freshman at Clemson in 2023, recording six tackles across 45 defensive snaps while earning All-ACC Academic Team honors. In 2024, he played 78 defensive snaps over 14 games, accumulating nine tackles, one sack, and one blocked punt. During the 2025 season at Clemson, Anderson recorded eight tackles and 2.0 tackles for loss over four games before opting for a mid-career redshirt.
