Russell Devany is a true freshman defensive lineman at San José State standing 6'0" and weighing 235 pounds. The Clovis, California native played football and baseball at Buchanan High School, where he lettered three times on the defensive line and at tight end. He served as a two-year captain and team MVP while earning All-Conference honors twice in football and once in baseball. In 2025, Devany recorded three sacks against Bakersfield High School and a strip-sack touchdown against RFK High School. He maintains a business major and was named to the Principals Honor Roll three times.
