Luke Richey is a linebacker for San José State standing 6'3" and weighing 209 pounds. The Morgan Hill, California native attended Live Oak High School, where he played four years of football and lacrosse while serving as a two-year captain in both sports. In 2023, he recorded 95 tackles with 10 sacks and earned Team Defensive Player of the Year honors along with All-Bay Area Defensive Lineman recognition. He was rated a top 250 edge prospect nationally for the class of 2024 by recruiting services. Richey joined the Spartans in 2024 but did not appear in a game that season and did not play in 2025.
