Koi Taiese is a 6'3", 320-pound defensive lineman and true freshman at San Diego State. The Oakland, California native lettered three times at McClymonds High School, where he helped the Warriors compile a 14-1 conference record and capture three consecutive Oakland League titles from 2023 to 2025. McClymonds also won three straight CIF Oakland Section Championships and reached the Northern California Regional Finals in each of those seasons. Taiese was ranked a three-star recruit by both recruiting services, earning a scout grade of 84 from recruiting services and 76 from national outlets, and ranked among the top-130 prospects in California. He selected San Diego State over offers from San Jose State, Colorado State, New Mexico, and UNLV.
