Carsten Mamaril is a 5'9", 180-pound nickelback from Temecula, California, who prepped at Chaparral High School. He began his college career at Mt. San Jacinto, where as a freshman in 2022 he recorded 40 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, four interceptions, and 12 pass breakups across 10 games. As a sophomore in 2023, he posted 27 tackles, three tackles for loss, and four interceptions while earning First Team All-Defense honors in the National Division Southern League. Mamaril transferred to Portland State, appearing in two games during a redshirt 2024 season. In 2025, he played all 12 games for the Vikings, accumulating 30 tackles with 2.5 for loss, three interceptions, and 10 pass breakups. He recorded a season-high seven tackles against Northern Arizona on September 27 and two interceptions at Cal Poly on November 1. Mamaril enters the 2026 season at San Diego State.
