Mason Holtzclaw is a true freshman quarterback for Sam Houston standing 6'1" and weighing 205 pounds. The Belton, SC native played his prep career across three high schools: Wren HS in South Carolina, where he started as a freshman; The Christ School in North Carolina, where he accumulated 2,467 passing yards and 18 touchdowns over two seasons; and Carrollton HS in Georgia, where he shared quarterback duties as a senior and led his team deep into the Georgia Class 6A playoffs. Holtzclaw is a three-star recruit with a ranking of 2524 in the 2026 class and plans to major in business.
