Mike Melanson is a punter for Sacramento State who transferred in from College of Sequoias, where he spent three years. At Sequoias, he averaged 39.1 yards per punt in both 2022 and 2023, earning all-league honors as a sophomore. During the 2023 season, he placed 17 punts inside the opponent 20-yard line and recorded four punts of at least 50 yards, including a 65-yarder. In 2022, he had six kicks of 50+ yards with a season-long of 65 yards. Melanson graduated from Las Vegas HS in 2012, where he averaged 38.63 yards per punt as a senior and also recorded 13 receptions for 102 yards and a touchdown as a wide receiver.
