Dionte Thornton, a 6'4" left cornerback from Carson, California, transferred to Sacramento State after playing the 2025 season at Portland State. With the Vikings, he appeared in all 12 games and recorded 34 total tackles, including two for loss and one sack. He posted six tackles against BYU for his season high and added five pass breakups. Thornton previously spent two seasons at Boise State, appearing in nine games in 2023 with five tackles before redshirting in 2022. A 2022 graduate of Lawndale High School, he was a three-star recruit and recorded 32 tackles with six pass breakups as a senior while also playing wide receiver.
