Ja'shon Benjamin is a running back from Pahokee, Florida, where he rushed for 1,312 yards and 14 touchdowns as a senior in 2022. A three-star recruit, Benjamin joined Rutgers as a freshman in 2023 and appeared in nine games, accumulating 45 carries for 172 yards with one rushing touchdown. In 2024, his sophomore year, he played in four games and recorded 19 carries for 100 yards and a touchdown. During the 2025 season, Benjamin appeared in all 12 games and carried 68 times for 328 yards and two touchdowns while adding four receptions for 19 yards. He earned Academic All-Big Ten honors in both 2024 and 2025.
