Brandon Murray is a defensive back for Rutgers from Haymarket, Virginia, where he attended Battlefield High School. At Battlefield, Murray played both defensive back and wide receiver under coach Greg Hatfield. During his senior season in 2025, he recorded 63 tackles, seven tackles-for-loss, five pass breakups, three forced fumbles and one interception on defense while contributing 325 all-purpose yards and three touchdowns on offense. He earned First Team All-Cedar Run District honors as a senior. Murray was a three-star recruit with a rating of 0.8833 and ranked 603 overall in the 2026 class.
