Kaj Sanders, a safety from Newark, NJ, attended Bergen Catholic High School where he earned first-team all-state honors and rushed for 1,053 yards and 17 touchdowns as a senior. A four-star recruit, Sanders joined Rutgers in 2024 and appeared in all 13 games with six starts as a freshman, recording 43 tackles and four pass breakups. In 2025, he started all 12 games and ranked third on the team with 65 tackles while adding one pass breakup, two blocked punts, and a blocked punt return for a touchdown. Sanders currently returns as a junior.
