Patrick Valent is a left guard for Rice, standing 6'3" and weighing 330 pounds. The Warren, Ohio native attended John F. Kennedy Catholic, where he made 59 consecutive starts at left tackle without allowing a sack and recorded 94 pancake blocks as a senior. Valent redshirted in 2023 after appearing in one game with four snaps. In 2024, he saw action in five games with seven offensive snaps. During the 2025 season, Valent appeared in all 13 games with 11 starts, logging 589 snaps in the regular season and allowing zero sacks on 191 pass plays. He earned American Conference All-Academic honors in 2024 and 2025.
