Michael Amey III is a safety for Rice who hails from Missouri City, Texas, where he attended Hightower High School. The 6'0", 195-pound redshirt freshman made his collegiate debut in 2025, appearing on a punt return against Prairie View and recording his first career tackle during the Armed Forces Bowl. At Hightower, Amey earned second-team All-District 21-6A honors as a senior despite missing four games, adding first-team all-district and district defensive newcomer of the year accolades from his junior year. Over his high school career, he accumulated 140 tackles, 15 pass breakups, and 10 interceptions.
