Xavier Townsend is a 5'11", 195-pound receiver from Tampa, FL who played at Berkeley Prep before joining UCF as a freshman in 2022. As a true freshman, he appeared in all 14 games with one start, catching 23 passes for 127 yards and returning 19 punts for a 9.3 average en route to Phil Steele Third Team All-AAC Punt Returner honors. Over his sophomore and junior seasons at UCF, Townsend compiled 33 receptions for 325 yards and three touchdowns in 2023, then appeared in four games with three starts in 2024, recording 10 catches for 69 yards with one touchdown and 10 punt returns. He transferred to Iowa State for the 2025 season and appeared in 10 games as a redshirt junior, posting 18 receptions for 243 yards with five carries for 18 yards and a touchdown.
