Emoni Smith is a true freshman defensive back at Purdue who stands 6'1" and weighs 190 pounds. The Hilltop, Ohio native attended Westland High School, where he was a three-star prospect ranked No. 7 at safety and No. 55 overall in Ohio by recruiting services, along with being named No. 81 athlete nationally by national outlets. Smith recorded 328 tackles, 29 tackles-for-loss, and 26 pass breakups over his high school career, also accumulating 3,532 all-purpose yards and 20 touchdowns. He earned second team all-state honors as a junior and was named Conference Defensive Player of the Year that same season, while posting a career-high 108 tackles as a sophomore. Smith holds Westland records in both career tackles and all-purpose yards.
