Dee Newsome is a 6'3" left cornerback from Tuscumbia, Alabama who attended Deshler High School, where he competed as a two-way player at wide receiver and safety alongside basketball. He began his college career at Jacksonville State, redshirting during the 2023 season and appearing in no games in 2024. Newsome transferred to Samford, where in 2025 he appeared in all 12 games as a sophomore, accumulating 17 tackles and five passes defended, including a three-tackle performance against Furman and two pass breakups at VMI. He now joins Purdue as a transfer.
