Bryce Yates, a 6'0" wide receiver from Ettrick, Virginia, enrolled at Pittsburgh in January 2025 after early graduation from Matoaca High School. As a true freshman, he appeared in 11 games and recorded 11 receptions for 202 yards and one touchdown. In his debut against Duquesne, Yates caught two passes for 69 yards, including a 60-yard touchdown—the longest by a Pitt freshman since Jordan Addison in 2020. Against West Virginia, he hauled in two catches for 74 yards, featuring a 68-yard reception. Yates earned All-ACC Academic Football Team honors and returns as a sophomore.
