D'Antae Sheffey is a true freshman running back from State College, Pennsylvania. He attended State College Area High School for three years under coach Matt Lintal and spent one season at Harrisburg High School under coach Calvin Everett. During his State College career, Sheffey accumulated 3,806 rushing yards and 58 touchdowns across all four seasons, along with 45 receptions for 429 yards and four touchdowns. As a senior, he rushed for 1,613 yards on 234 carries with 24 touchdowns while recording 10 games of at least 100 rushing yards. He helped lead State College to a 10-3 record and a state quarterfinals appearance in his final year. Sheffey was rated a three-star prospect entering college.
