Tate Sandell is a placekicker for the Oklahoma Sooners who transferred from UTSA in June 2025. The 5'9", 187-pound Port Neches, Texas native won the Lou Groza Award in 2025 as the nation's top placekicker. He made 24 of 27 field goal attempts (89%) with a long of 55 yards, converting 35 of 35 extra points. Sandell led the country with eight field goals from 50-plus yards and 16 from 40-plus yards, averaging 42.1 yards per make. He scored 107 of Oklahoma's 341 points (31%) and set a school record with 24 consecutive made field goals. Named first-team All-American by multiple outlets and SEC Special Teams Player of the Year, Sandell was a three-time SEC Special Teams Player of the Week.
