Tate Romney is a 6'1", 223-pound linebacker from Chandler, Arizona, who began his college career at BYU as a redshirt in 2022 before transferring to Arizona State. At ASU, Romney appeared in 12 games and started 11 as a freshman in 2023, recording 52 tackles, 4.0 tackles for loss, 1.0 sack, and four pass breakups while playing 543 snaps—the most by any freshman linebacker in the Pac-12 that season. In 2024, he played in seven games before a broken arm limited him to the second half. During his 2025 junior year at Arizona State, Romney appeared in 10 games, making 13 tackles with six solo stops, one pass breakup, and one fumble recovery. Romney joined Oklahoma State as a transfer prior to the 2026 season and earned Academic All-Big 12 honors in both 2024 and 2025.
