Beau Wendel is a true freshman linebacker for the Oklahoma State Cowboys who arrived in the summer as a walk-on. The 5'11", 197-pound native of Midlothian, Texas played for his father, Doug Wendel, at Midlothian High School, where he competed as a two-way player at quarterback and linebacker. During his senior season, he earned district offensive MVP honors and was named academic all-state. Over his high school career, Wendel received multiple team accolades including two captain designations and two team MVP awards.
