Gavin Frakes is a 6'4", 235-pound quarterback from Norman, Oklahoma, who attended Norman North High School. As a senior in 2021, he led the Timberwolves to a 7-4 record and threw for 2,207 yards with 24 touchdowns while adding 785 rushing yards and eight scores. He committed to New Mexico State and played in 11 games as a true first-year in 2022, making five starts and accumulating 736 passing yards with four touchdowns and 143 rushing yards with two scores. After stints at New Mexico State and Virginia without game action, Frakes transferred to Northwestern as a redshirt junior for the 2025 season.
