Anthony Birsa is a redshirt junior right guard for Northwestern, standing 6'5" and weighing 310 pounds. The Plainfield, Illinois native attended Joliet Catholic Academy, where he earned IHSFCA All-State First Team honors and was named CCL/ESCC Orange Division Lineman of the Year. In 2021 as a junior, he helped lead Joliet Catholic to a 14-0 record and the 4A state championship. Birsa redshirted his first year in 2023, then appeared in six games with two starts in 2024 before earning Academic All-Big Ten recognition. He played all 13 games in 2025, primarily contributing on special teams.
