Ross Liegel is a redshirt sophomore offensive lineman for Northern Illinois, wearing number 58. From Rock Springs, Wisconsin, he attended Baraboo High School, where he earned First Team All-Conference honors in 2022 and 2023 and served as team captain in 2023. He redshirted in 2024 without game action. In 2025, Liegel played in all 12 games and started the final six contests at tackle, earning his first start against Ohio. During those six games, the offense averaged 216.3 rushing yards per game with three 300-yard performances. The Huskies ranked third in the MAC in sacks allowed at 1.58 per game. Liegel earned Academic All-MAC recognition in 2025.
