Joe Stein is a tight end for the Northern Illinois Huskies who hails from Grand Island, Nebraska, where he attended Northwest High School. A three-year varsity letterwinner, Stein earned All-State honors and First team All-Conference recognition in 2023. He also lettered in track and wrestling, achieving All-American status twice in wrestling. Stein redshirted during the 2024 season and appeared in all 12 games in 2025, contributing on special teams. He was named to the Academic All-MAC Team in 2025 and is pursuing a major in kinesiology.
