Tyson Wilson is a free safety from Gilmer, Texas who spent three seasons at Tyler Junior College before joining North Texas as a transfer. At Tyler JC, Wilson appeared in 23 games at the defensive back position across 2023–25. In 2025, his third season, he played in 12 games and earned Second Team All-Southwest Junior College Football Conference honors while recording 28 tackles, 3.0 tackles for loss and four pass breakups. The previous year he appeared in 11 games and totaled 14.0 tackles and three pass breakups. Wilson preserves a junior/transfer eligibility at UNT.
