Anthony Benford II is a cornerback for North Texas at 5'11", 188 pounds. The Denton, Texas native attended Guyer HS, where he earned District Newcomer of the Year and Second Team All-District honors while recording 32 tackles, 12 pass breakups, three tackles for loss, and two forced fumbles in his senior season. Benford spent two seasons at Division II Missouri Western, appearing in 15 games combined. As a true freshman in 2023, he recorded 11 tackles across seven games, including his first career tackle in a win over Lincoln (Mo.). In 2024, he appeared in eight games and tallied six tackles with four solo stops. He preserved a redshirt in 2025 and returns as a junior for the Mean Green.
