Zach Hellendrung is a defensive tackle for North Dakota State, standing 6'3" and weighing 275 pounds. The true freshman from Boyceville, Wisconsin was a four-year starter at Boyceville High School, where he served as a two-time captain under coach Michael Roemhild. He compiled 356 career tackles, 59 tackles for loss, and 20 sacks on defense while accumulating 2,479 yards and 44 touchdowns on offense. Hellendrung earned three all-conference and all-region selections at both defensive lineman and running back, along with two conference Defensive Player of the Year awards. He also competed in wrestling, earning three state qualifications with a third-place finish as a junior, and baseball.
