Matthew Stenbroten is a right defensive end for North Dakota State. The Lake Mills, Wisconsin native graduated from Lake Mills High School in 2024, where he was a three-year starter and team captain. In high school, he compiled 151 tackles, 16 sacks, and 13 tackles for loss on defense, while recording 126 receptions for 1,869 yards and 23 touchdowns on offense. He redshirted during the 2024 season and was named to the MVFC Honor Roll. In his freshman year (2025), Stenbroten appeared in all 13 games, recording 11 tackles including three against St. Thomas, and posted two quarterback hurries in that same contest.
