Ethan Wood is a redshirt freshman right defensive end for North Dakota State, standing 6'4" and weighing 255 pounds. The Mount Vernon, Iowa native was a three-year starter and team captain at Mount Vernon High School under coach Brad Meester. During his high school career, Wood earned two-time all-state and all-conference first team honors, along with conference defensive player of the year as a junior. He set the school single-season sack record twice, recording 10.5 sacks and then 12.0 his senior year, finishing with 82 total tackles, 41.5 tackles for loss, and 24.0 career sacks. Wood also earned three-time academic all-state recognition in football and wrestling, and qualified twice for the state wrestling tournament. He appeared in one game against South Dakota during his redshirt 2025 season. Wood is majoring in business administration.
