Barry Kpeenu is a running back from West Fargo, North Dakota, who transferred to North Dakota State after spending his freshman year at Rochester Community and Technical College in Minnesota. During the 2024 season at Rochester CTC, he appeared in 10 games and recorded 76 carries for 341 yards and three touchdowns, averaging 4.5 yards per carry with a season-high 72 yards against Mesabi Range. At Sheyenne High School, he rushed for 618 yards and six touchdowns as a senior in 2024. In his redshirt 2025 season with the Bison, Kpeenu played in three games at running back, including his first career attempt against South Dakota and two carries for seven yards against St. Thomas.
