Kaleb Cost is a 5'11", 195-pound nickel back for North Carolina from Atlanta's Sandy Creek High School. A three-star recruit ranked 768th nationally in the 2023 class, Cost appeared in all 13 games during his freshman season in 2023, including his first career start against West Virginia in the Duke's Mayo Bowl where he recorded five tackles and two pass breakups. In 2024, he started all 13 games and finished fifth on the team with 63 tackles, adding 2.5 tackles for loss, a half sack, and two interceptions, including a pick-six against Pitt returned 84 yards for a touchdown. During the 2025 season, Cost appeared in 11 of 12 games, starting eight at nickel, and recorded 45 tackles including 33 solo stops, two tackles for loss, five pass breakups, and one interception against TCU.
