Chance Barron is a redshirt junior linebacker for New Mexico State who stands 6'0" and weighs 215 pounds. Originally from D'Lo, Mississippi, Barron attended Mendenhall High School, where he recorded 325 tackles and earned first-team all-state honors at strong safety as a senior. He spent two seasons at Jones College before joining the Aggies. In 2023, his freshman year at Jones, he appeared in all nine games and tallied 12 tackles. During his sophomore campaign in 2024, Barron registered 44 tackles including 2.5 for loss, added three pass breakups and a forced fumble, and earned Second Team All-MACCC honors. He did not see action in 2025 due to injury.
