The Grass Valley, California native attended Nevada Union High School, where he earned 2025 Foothill Valley League Lineman of the Year and All-FVL First Team honors. As a senior, Statler recorded eight sacks to lead the FVL, added 73 tackles, 16 tackles-for-loss, and three forced fumbles. He was named Nevada Union's 2025 MVP and selected to the Optimus Game roster. Statler also saw time on the offensive line as a guard during his prep career.
