Popo Aguirre is a 6'1", 235-pound linebacker from Fayetteville, GA who attended Whitewater High School before playing three seasons at Miami. As a freshman in 2023, he appeared in all 13 games on special teams. During his sophomore year in 2024, Aguirre saw action in 10 games with one start, recording 27 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, and one sack while adding a fumble recovery for a touchdown before missing three games to injury. In 2025 as a junior, he played in all 16 games and started against Syracuse, posting 43 tackles for the season with a game-high six stops against both Syracuse and Notre Dame. Aguirre transferred to NC State and is a senior-to-be.
