Isaiah Shirley is a defensive tackle from Boone, North Carolina, where he played defensive end and tight end at Watauga High School under head coach Ryan Habich. A consensus three-star prospect in the 2023 recruiting class, Shirley enrolled at NC State in January 2023 and redshirted his freshman year while appearing in four games. During his redshirt-freshman season in 2024, he saw action in 12 games, including his first career start against Northern Illinois where he played 38 snaps. In 2025, Shirley recorded 15 total tackles, 2 quarterback hurries, 1 sack, 1 tackle for loss, and 1 interception returned for a touchdown. He is a returning redshirt junior and a member of the ACC All-Academic team.
