Gilles Tchio, a 6'3", 310-pound defensive tackle from Milton, Georgia, joined Missouri State as a true freshman in 2022, appearing in four games to preserve his redshirt. He transitioned between offensive and defensive line positions through 2023, playing in all 11 games with three starts. In 2024, Tchio appeared in all 12 games and started the final seven, recording 26 total stops, 10 solo tackles, 4.0 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks and 3 quarterback hurries. He earned the team's defensive "Showtime" award for his performance against Indiana State on October 19, 2024, when he posted 5 tackles, 4 solos, 2.0 tackles for loss, a sack and two hurries. A preseason All-CUSA fourth-team selection, Tchio suffered an injury on the opening defensive play of the 2025 season opener at USC and missed the remainder of the campaign. He returns as a redshirt junior.
