Sekou Toure' Smith Jr. is a safety for Mississippi State who hails from Miami, Florida, where he attended Miami Central High School. A consensus 3-star recruit, Smith committed to the Bulldogs on June 15, 2024, choosing them over Ole Miss, Miami, Texas A&M and others. In high school, he played both safety and wide receiver and competed in track, qualifying for districts in the 100-meter dash as a 9th and 10th grader with personal bests of 11.15 and 22.13 seconds respectively. During his true freshman season in 2025, Smith earned a redshirt without appearing in game action and returns to the program as a redshirt freshman.
