Zion Steptoe is a redshirt senior receiver from Little Elm, Texas who enrolled at Minnesota in January 2026. He attended Frisco Memorial High School, where he was a two-year starter at receiver and set a school record with 790 receiving yards as a junior. Steptoe spent two seasons at Purdue (2022-23), redshirting his freshman year before playing defensive back as a sophomore with 11 tackles and one forced fumble across all 12 games. He then played two seasons at Tulsa (2024-25), recording 36 catches for 475 yards and seven rushing attempts for 65 yards across 22 games (15 starts).
