Anthony Smith is a defensive end for Minnesota who attended Shippensburg High School in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania. A four-star recruit from the class of 2022, Smith has spent five years with the Golden Gophers. In 2025, his redshirt senior season, he started all 13 games and recorded 38 tackles, 17.5 tackles for loss, and a Big Ten-leading 12.5 sacks while breaking up three passes. Smith earned All-Big Ten First Team honors from coaches and All-Big Ten Second Team recognition from media in 2025. He previously recorded 27 tackles and 11.5 tackles for loss as a sophomore in 2024.
